13 Apr

Nice group of coffee pots by J & G Meakin Pottery Co.   The  pattern on the left with the flowers in rust and yellow is called Palma, the blue one in the middle is called Impact and the one on the right in browns is called Maori.  The shape of the pots is called Studio and this shape was launched by Meakin in 1964 with eight new patterns and continued until the late 70’s. They produced quite a few patterns in this shape as it was so successful.

Iroquois Casual China by Russel Wright

13 Dec

Ca. 1940 to 1964.  The brown colour is called Iroquois and the pattern is  Casual China designed by Russel Wright.  If  you collect mid century modern dishes, you will be familiar with the designer Russel Wright.  He designed the most popular line of dishware in American history called American Modern which is widely collected.  He also designed furniture which is much sought after today.

These items were found at a thrift store and I wish there had been a complete set but alas, this was all I found after scouring the store several times over.
