1950’s kitchen table with chrome legs and marblelized formica top. This one is a keeper. We decided we liked this table better than the one we had in the kitchen and it fits in with our decor.

We cleaned it up a bit but otherwise it was  in great condition.  The previous owners had it since they were kids in the fifties.   Great find!  Now all I need are some chrome chairs to go with it.

Update:

We found some retro chrome chairs and reupholstered them in champagne coloured textured vinyl.  They really look fab!

We purchased this from one of my customers who was changing her decor.  I was thrilled to get it.  All we had to do was clean it up a bit.  This is one piece I would have liked to keep but I have no room for it at home.  Too bad.  It is a 1950’s blue cracked ice formica buffet with original etched doors and chrome trim.  It is in very good condition with some minor discolouration on the top but the finish is still nice and shiny.

It is for sale at my booth at the Almonte Antique Market in Almonte Ontario just west of Ottawa for $325.00.

Please Note: This item is now sold!!

This wonderful little yellow cracked ice formica table was found at an estate sale and needed only a good cleaning to remove a stain on the top and spruce up the chrome legs.  Otherwise it was in fabulous condition and the mechanism to open the drop leaves worked great.  Note the nice detail of  curved legs on the table. The chairs were purchased separately from a house clear out sale and were originally upholstered in an awful green colour.  We spruced them up by recovering them with yellow marine vinyl,  new chrome tacks and black plastic feet.   We proudly displayed the set in our booth at noon on Tuesday and by 3 pm the set was sold.   I was actually a bit sad to see it go out the door as it looked so cheery in the booth and would have been a great conversation piece.   On the other hand, we love to turn around a piece so quickly.
