These are 2 1/2″ footed cordials made by IIttala, Finland in the Ultima Thule pattern, designed by Tapio Wirkkala.   They date to the 1960’s.

I found the following information about the designer on Iittala.com

Tapio Wirkkala 1968

Inspired by the melting ice in Lapland, Wirkkala originally created the surface in the 1960s after carving into a graphic mould. An exclusive design reflecting the thousands of hours spent perfecting the glass-blowing technique required to produce the effect. The patterns gradually change as the glass burns the surface of the wooden moulds.

This was another great find this week.  Lovely large serving/mixing bowl by Arabia in the Pomona Plum pattern.  Designed by Raija Uosikkinen in the 1960’s or 1970’s.   These are manufactured in Finland by Arabia,  a company that had very innovative designs for tableware.

This will eventually be for sale at my booth in Almonte ON at the Almonte Antique Market for $ 65.00.
