These are very rare and hard to find dishes as they were only produced for 2 years.

I found the following information on a site called ‘Corelle Corner’, which has great information about patterns for Pyrex and Corelle. http://www.corellecorner.com/home.html

Family Flair dinnerware (1957)
There were five patterns to choose from when this coupe-shaped dinnerware was introduced: Field Flower, Pine Cone, Chinese Grass, and Quince which was available in Pink or Yellow.  Within one year Field Flower and Pine Cone were dropped and the remaining patterns were re-named.  Quince became Pink Petal & Yellow Petal, and Chinese Grass became Sea Isle, which is turquoise.

Dinner plates, side plates, saucers and oval platters are patterned, and cups, soup/cereal bowls and oval serving bowls are solid-coloured.  Creamers & sugar bowls are also solid-coloured, but sugar bowl lids are patterned.  Family Flair was sold in 20-piece sets comprising four place settings.  The product line was available for two or three years.

Currier & Ives Set of Dishes, Blue and White Pattern

24 Apr

currier & Ives  currier & Ives 2

Currier & Ives Dinnerware was produced by the Royal China Company of Sebring Ohio, US.  The backstamps indicate the pattern as ‘Early Winter’ on the rim soup bowls and the dinner plates say ‘The Old Grist Mill’.  Each piece has a different scene and a different pattern name.  Pieces were given away at the A & P with purchases of groceries and the completer pieces could be purchased separately. It was produced from 1950 to about 1970 when Jeannette Glass bought the company and discontinued the pattern. It was brought back in the mid 70’s and contiuned production until 1986.  This backstamp indicates to me that it is an earlier set, so anywhere from the 50’s to early 70’s.

This is a complete set of  8 place settings consisting of dinner plate, side plate, soup bowl, dessert bowl, cup and saucer.

The set is for sale for $175.00.  It is in immaculate condition,  with no utensil marks that I can see, and no chips or other problems.  I doubt if it was ever used much.

Please Note: This set is  now SOLD!!!

Pyrex Flamingo Dinnerware 1950’s

18 Mar

Introduced by Pyrex in 1953 and discontinued in 1957, this pattern colour is called Flamingo and has a gold trim on all the pieces.   It  sure makes for a colourful display when the table is all laid out with these dishes.  Shown is one place setting.  I have 10 complete place settings altogether.

Will be for sale at my booth in Almonte Ontario, at the Almonte Antique Market.

4 place settings will be $50.

Please note: All these dishes are now SOLD!!

Midwinter Stonehenge Moon Gravy Boat and Underplate

7 Mar

Continuing with the blue theme, this is a gravy boat and underplate by Midwinter in the Stonehenge Moon Pattern.  Stonehenge patterns were released in 1972 and Midwinter put out dishes in the Stonehenge pattern in yellow (Sun), reds and browns (Earth) and the above blue colour (Moon)  in 1973.  They were designed by Eve Midwinter.

The background is an oatmeal coloured speckled glaze and the dishes were finished with hand applied iron oxide banding to the edges.  They were meant to look rustic and this was quite the in look back in the 70’s.

This will be for sale soon at my booth in the Almonte Antique Market, Almonte ON.  for $20.00.

Please note this item is now SOLD!!!
