Mid Century Modern Heavy Glass Cande Holders – Trivets

20 Jan

glass candle holders

Two very large and heavy square candle holders.  They measure about 5″ square and could be turned over and used as trivets.  No makers marks or stickers so no idea of the manufacturer. Definitely look mid century in design. Possibly Scandinavian.

I will be bringing these items to the Ottawa Antique and Vintage Market, being held at the Carleton Univeristy Fieldhouse on March 21 and 22nd, 2015.

I also have a booth at the Almonte Antique Market, 26 Mill Street, Almonte ON. Just 30 minutes west of the city of Ottawa.  Open 7 days a week, all year long, 10am to 5pm.  Over 50 dealers in a 2 storey heritage building in downtown Almonte.

Update: A kind customer at the Antique Show informed me that these were actually trivets/warmers and that they were probably manufactured in a European Country. She remember buying them about 20 years ago.

Please note these items are now SOLD!!!!

Cast metal Mermaids

27 Nov

Found these at the thrift store yesterday. I have no idea if they are old or new, valuable or not,  but they appealed to me so I bought them. They are made of some kind of cast metal with a bronzed paint finish.  They may be for candles or perhaps just ornamental.  If anyone has any information on these, I would love to hear from them.

Please note these items are now  SOLD!!
