These are some of the Vera Neumann napkin sets that I have collected over the last few years.   Vera patterns are well known by collectors.  She designed patterns for scarves, clothing, linens and dishes.    She started using the trademark signature Vera on her textiles in 1947.  Geometrics, dots  and bold florals were very popular and are widely collected today.    Items produced from the 1959 to the late 1960’s also had a picture of a ladybug next to her trademark name.

Although she died in 1993 the company continues today and is owned by The Vera Company of Atlanta GA.

I am always on the hunt for Vera items but they are getting harder and harder to find so it is a thrill when I actually come across one in good condition.

Please note all the above are now SOLD except for the black and white ones.

African Batik Wax Prints

30 Oct
wax dyed fabric

I am waiting for inspiration as to what to make with these lovely fabrics

Don’t you just love these bold, bright prints!  I found all of them at a thrift store and couldn’t resist.   My research on this fabric turned up some interesting bits of information on it’s origin and use.  Check out this blog at http://yourdecoratinghotline.com/wax-print/ for a bit of background info if you are interested.

These pieces were made in Holland and England according to the information on the edges of the prints.

Please note these items are now SOLD!!!
