Enamelware Stock Pot & Strainer

16 Sep

Nice white, large enamelware stock pot with strainer, and sunflower decal on the sides.

There are no marks on the pot but this could be from Yogoslavia. The pot is lighter weight than older pieces so I’m guessing this would be from the 1980’s era. Pristine inside and out.

Enamelware has been around for a long time and the US started major production in the 1870’s through to the 1930’s. A lot of it was melted down for the war effort as it was considered cheap and plentiful and everyone had a few enamel pots to spare. Now the older pieces are prized for their good craftmanship and design. After the 2nd world war a lot of enamelware came out of Yugoslavia and Poland as well as high end Scandinavian pieces from Denmark and Sweden.

Priced at $45.00 and available only at my booth in the Almonte Antiques & Collectibles Market, Almonte ON.

Anchor Hocking Forest Green Charm and Mushrooms

16 Sep

The square plate is by Anchor Hocking and is dated to the 1950’s. Pattern is called Charm. The green bubble top storage jar was made in Belgium and came in several colours and sizes: emerald green, amber, and aqua that I know of. These date to the 1960’s and still have a contemporary look that would fit in any decor today.

The ceramic mushroom salt and pepper shakers are made in Japan and there is a mushroom spoon rest to match. Most likely from the 1960’s. All are in excellent vintage condition and cute as can be.

Top right is a Pixie or Elf Posie Holder, circa 1950’s in very nice vintage condition, no paint loss.

All the above items are available at my booth at the Almonte Antiques & Collectible Market in Almonte ON, 26 Mill Street, open 7 days a week, 10 to 5, free parking at the rear of the store. Over 40 vendors in a 2 storey heritage building with something for everyone’s taste or collection.
