1950’s Bib Apron, Yellow Roses

31 Jul

20170727_124537Lovely yellow roses pattern on this vintage 1950’s bib apron.  Cute ruffled pocket on right side.  In very good vintage condition. Background is black and white bows.

Growing up during the 50’s and 60’s era, almost every mother I knew wore an apron.    My mother had her everyday aprons which were sturdy cotton and usually in a lovely cheerful pattern.  The frillier half aprons in fabulous gauzy chiffons and light weight patterned cottons, were reserved for serving Sunday dinner.   I still have my mothers full bib apron which shows a lot of wear and I cherish it.  It brings back memories of her great cooking.

Over the next few weeks I will be posting photos of vintage clothing that will be available in my booth at the next Ottawa Vintage Clothing Show at the Carleton Fieldhouse on Nov. 12th 2017.
