Teak Salad Bowl Set, Teak Shakers, Mid Century Modern

Here are a few examples of Mid Century Modern Teak kitchen ware.  There is a large salad bowl with 4 individual serving bowls and salad servers, made in Thailand.  There is a pair of candle holders, 2 sets of salt and pepper shakers and two small bowls.

All these items will be available at the Ottawa Antique and Vintage Market on March 21 and 22nd, 2015  at the Carleton University Fieldhouse Show where I will have a booth set up.

J & G Meakin Avondale Royal Staffordshire Dishes

These dishes were manufactured by J. & G. Meakin Co., Royal Staffordshire England, ca. 1960’s or early 70’s.  The pattern is called Avondale.  I have 8 complete place settings which includes dinner plates, side plates, cereal bowls, cups and saucers. Also included are a platter, vegetable serving bowl and cream and sugar.  All dishes are in excellent condition with very little sign of wear to the surfaces. Several mugs are slightly lighter in colour.  They may have been used a bit more compared to the rest of the set.  Overall wonderful vintage condition.

This set is currently available at my booth at the Almonte Antique Market, 26 Mill Street, Almonte ON.  Open 7 days a week from 10am to 5pm, all year round. There are over 50 vendors in the Market which is a 2 storey brick heritage building on the main street of Almonte.

The set is priced at $275.00

Mid Century Modern Heavy Glass Cande Holders – Trivets

Two very large and heavy square candle holders.  They measure about 5″ square and could be turned over and used as trivets.  No makers marks or stickers so no idea of the manufacturer. Definitely look mid century in design. Possibly Scandinavian.

I will be bringing these items to the Ottawa Antique and Vintage Market, being held at the Carleton Univeristy Fieldhouse on March 21 and 22nd, 2015.

Update: A kind customer at the Antique Show informed me that these were actually trivets/warmers and that they were probably manufactured in a European Country. She remember buying them about 20 years ago.

Wood Mice Cocktail Spears or Picks, Mid 20th Century

This is another very cute set of wood mice cocktail spears/picks.  Could be made in Japan  or even Denmark but there are no markings on the bottom.  All made of wood, with leather ears and tails.

Mid 20th Century Teak Cat Shakers and Mice Cocktail Spears

These are in good condition with some minor wear to the leather ears from being stored.  The stand, cats and mice are made of teak.  Cats and mice were very  popular themes for mid century entertaining.

Anchor Hocking Soreno Nesting Honey Gold Amber Ashtrays

Nesting ashtrays, made by Anchor Hocking in the 1960’s.  Pattern is called Soreno. The company made them in avocado green, teal blue, pink, crystal and irridescent and this colour which is called ‘Honey Gold’.  I think everyone had an ashtray like this in their homes in that era.  They were plentiful to find a few years ago but not so much now.

Hornsea and Wade Porcelain Figurines, Posy Holders

Adorable posy holders in very nice condition.  The blue bird on a tree branch is by Wade, made in England.  The squirrels are made by Hornsea, England.
