Susie Cooper was born in 1902, at Stansfield near Burslem. Her first job was as a paintress for the pottery decorating firm of A.E. Gray at the age of 20. She wanted more freedom to do her designs and set out on her own at the age of 27 to become an independent pottery producer. Her earlier art deco designs are widely collected and valuable.
The above pattern was designed sometime in 1955 and is called Parrot Tulip. The shape of the dishes is Quail. I believe these are decorated using lithographs on bone china.
Unfortunately the coffee pot is damaged beyond repair. there is a huge crack down the back side and one on the front. Only the lid is in perfect condition. I saved the teapot to show the Quail shape.
The rest of the set will be for sale at my booth at the Almonte Antique Market, 26 Mill Street, Almonte ON which is open 7 days a week all year round.
Set includes 5 demi tasse cups and 5 saucers (one of the cups has a hairline crack) cream and sugar.
Priced at $45 for the cups and saucers and cream and sugar.
Pattern is called Anniversary Rose made in Staffordshire England for Royal Swan in the early to mid 1900’s. This set is pristine, looks like the pieces were never used much, if at all. Complete settings for eight includes dinner plates, sandwich plates, rimmed soup bowls, cups, saucers, vegetable serving bowl, 2 platters and cream and sugar. One cup has a recent chip on the upper edge. This chip was done recently unfortunately . All the other pieces are in excellent condition. No crazing that I could see and no loss to the 22 kt gold trim.
The complete set is priced at $85, including the platters, bowl and sugar and cream.
They are on display in my booth at the Almonte Antique Market, 26 Mill Street, Almonte ON, just 30 minutes west of the city of Ottawa.
Please note: These dishes are now SOLD!!!
I don’t have any 8 tracks to try out in this vintage player but it is in very nice overall condition and the red colour is quite eye catching. 8 track tapes came out in the 1960’s through to the early 80’s at which time they were phased out for cassette tapes.
A nice piece just to have as a memento of times gone by.
For sale at my booth in Almonte, ON, at the Almonte Antique Market, 26 Mill Street.
Priced at $25
Please note this item is now SOLD!!
I hardly ever come across Rosti dishes. I find the utensils and mixing bowls and jugs frequently, but not plates and cups. These all have the Rosti mark, made in Denmark.
Most of the pieces in the photo show some utensil wear and usage but since I have never found these in any large amount before, I thought they would be worth having even with the wear and tear. The colours are still very vibrant. The two lug bowls are not Rosti but complement the colours of the Rosti. The colours are a deep purple and bright red.
The dishes will soon be for sale in my booth at the Almonte Antique Market, 26 Mill Street, Almonte, ON,just 30 minutes west of the city of Ottawa.
Priced separately at between $2 and $4 each piece.
Please note the red dishes are now SOLD!!
Vintage Coco Chanel yellow vinyl and clear vinyl striped purse. The shoulder strap has some wear along the edges. This may be a reproduction, but I don’t know for sure. It is still a very nice example and would be great for toting things to the beach in the summer.
Will be for sale eventually at my booth in Almonte ON, at the Almonte Antique Market, 26 Mill Street.
Please note this purse is now SOLD!!
